My name is Jarmal, but most people call me Jay. I'm a designer based in North Carolina.
I’ve always been drawn to the kind of work that helps bring order to what feels cloudy.
Design, for me, it's just been about how something looks. It’s about helping ideas make sense, helping people feel understood, and building things that can carry weight over time.
I spent a long time working across industries — military, nonprofits, universities, small businesses — and I kept coming back to the same question:
How can something so good be packaged so poorly?
That question has driven my career since. I have enjoyed collaborating with teams and individuals seeing something go from nothing to something real.
